The Green IUPAC 2026 conference is a major international event dedicated to advancing green chemistry and sustainable development.
Organised by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) in collaboration with the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ), NOVA School of Science and Technology, and the University of Lisbon, it will bring together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the world.
The conference provides a global platform to exchange knowledge and promote solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Key thematic areas include green synthesis and catalysis, green chemical engineering, CO₂ utilisation, green energy systems, bioeconomy (including terrestrial and marine resources), AI in green chemistry, and chemical education. Through plenary lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions, Green IUPAC 2026 aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate innovation in sustainable, low-carbon, and circular chemical system
