The successful PHA World Congress, organized by Renewable Carbon Plastics (previously bioplastics MAGAZINE) together with GO!PHA goes into its fourth edition. After 2018, 2021 and 2023 (USA), the conference is now coming back to Germany.

Meet world-leading experts and learn about the latest developments around PHA, including application development, processing, end-of-life systems, capacity expansions, investment opportunities, application developments, legislation and an update on GO!PHA’s programmes and progress.

This 2 full-day-conference with table-top exhibition will be held on the 3rd and 4th of September 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

PHA (Poly-Hydroxy-Alkanoates) is a family of biobased and biodegradable polyesters. As in many mammals, including humans, that hold energy reserves in the form of body fat, there are also bacteria that hold intracellular reserves of polyhydroxy alkanoates. Here, the microorganisms store a particularly high level of energy reserves (up to 80% of their own body weight) for when their sources of nutrition become scarce. Examples of such Polyhydroxyalkanoates are PHB, PHV, PHBV, PHBH and many more. That’s why we speak about the PHA platform.

The PHA-platform provides an alternative to traditional plastics and usage of these materials can aid various applications areas in the transition to circularity, such as films and rigid packaging, biomedical applications, automotive, consumer electronics, appliances, toys, glues, adhesives, paints, coatings, fibers for woven and non-woven and inks.
