€170.7 million for new bio-based innovations

CBE JU has just announced the launch of the 2026 Work Programme with €170.7 million in funding, aimed at advancing sustainable and competitive bio-based solutions across Europe! This funding will drive innovation in line with the European Commission’s Bioeconomy Strategy and the Strategic Framework for a Competitive & Sustainable EU Bioeconomy.

Key highlights:

  • 13 cutting-edge topics spanning industrial flagship biorefineries, feedstock diversification, biotech scale-up & more
  • €20M for projects boosting biorefinery competitiveness & sustainable alternatives for crop protection and personal care products.
    €6.5M for breakthrough bio-based textile fibers, polymers & circular packaging solutions
  • Innovation Actions to valorise residual biomass & unlock recyclability, with €14M available for each topic
